DAY TRIPS INTO THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Quick morning and evening trips

The best viewing is early in the morning and late afternoon.
Pack a picknic basket and leave early in the morning.
Sign in at Crocodile Bridge
Do short drives or sit by the dam
When you leave in the morning inform the guard at the gate
that you plan on coming back in the afternoon then you
do not have to sign in again.
Spend the day at Martys Place and return for a late afternoon drive.

Crocodile Bridge to Skukuza

Leave early in the morning
Enter at Crocodile Bridge
Take a slow drive up to Lower Sabie
Lower Sabie has a restuarant and shop
Continue north till Nkulu picnic spot which has toilet facilities and shop
Continue north till Skukuza
Skukuza has a large shop and restuarants
Return via the same route

Malelane to Crocodile Bridge

Leave early in the morning
Go back to the N4 and travel back to Malelane
Follow signage and enter at Malelane gate
Stop at Berg en Dal
Visit Afsaal picnic spot
Stop at Skukuza
Travel along the river to Nkulu picnic spot
Take a break at Lower Sabie
Leave the Park at Crocodile Bridge
This is a full days drive
Leave early and take enough refreshments

Tar and gravel roads

There are plenty loops and routes to explore via gravel roads
The gravel roads are in good condition,
you can easily get around in an ordinary sedan car.
In some cases it is wise to deflate your tyres to dampen the shake from the gravel roads.
Higher clearance vehicles like 4x4's and SUV's give you the height advantage for better game viewing.

Go back to the N4 and travel back to Malelane
Follow signage and enter at Malelane gate
Take the S114 till it joins the S25
Follow the S25 till it joins the H4-2
This route runs along the Crocodile river
Take enough refreshments with and bear in mind there are no toilets on route.
